I'm thinking inking. ;)

Have you been following along with Jennifer McGuire's brand new class over at Two Peas? It's a continuation of her AMAZING class from just over a year ago, Thinking Inking. (You can view Jennifer's post with all of the links for that class here.)  This one is "Holiday Thinking Inking" and is just as amazing. So, over the next eight weeks during the class, I hope to do some projects along with the class and share them here. I love being inspired my product and fantastic teachers, and this is one of those amazing, winning combinations.

This is inspired by Week 1, Project 3 of the class. It's all about distress inks + water. This one, I took some Distress Ink Pads (Spun Sugar, Dusty Concord, and Chipped Saphire), dabbed them each on their own areas of my nonstick work surface, and then added a spritz (or two) of water to each color and then used them as watercolor over an embossed image. I am in LOVE with how this turned out. These are by far and away my favorite colors to work with. Purples and pinks are my absolute favorites. And that washi tape? Yummmm. I bought most of this from PrettyTape on etsy.
Here's a close-up of the awesome technique from the class:
Supplies: Cardstock- Papertrey Ink, Watercolor paper- Blick Art Materials, Washi Tape- PrettyTape and American Crafts (Pink dot), Embossing Powder- Ranger. Embossing Ink- Tsukineko (Versamark), Stamps- Hero Arts (CG194 Stencil Flower and CL340 Birthday Sayings), Pearls- Queen & Co., Thread- DMC, Corner Rounder- WRMK, Ink- Ranger (Distress Ink by Tim Holtz- Spun Sugar, Dusty Concord, Chipped Saphire).

Okay, off to go watch Glee and chill with some friends. Be back tomorrow with some more crafty goodness; I hope to get a chance with my new Lawn Fawn stamps which I should have in my hot little hands by tomorrow. Woohoo!

Have you been following along with the Thinking Inking series? What have you made so far?

Love.
Brit

Brit, this is SO pretty! Wow. And I love your washi tape background.

I've been watching Jennifer's videos, but I haven't had a chance to try out the techniques myself yet. It's going to be a crazy-busy rest of the week, but I'm hoping to maybe try some of these out next week if I get a chance. I think the stamping on the acrylic block is SO cool! I have to try that one first.

We had some family over tonight, so I missed most of Glee. Don't spoil it for me! ;o) I'll have to watch it online tomorrow. Have a great night!
