The Ultimate Card Showdown at 2S4Y

I'm really excited to enter into this awesome contest that starts with this sketch. For more information, check out 2 Sketches 4 You's blog. Here's the sketch:

I used paint that I mixed myse to make the scallops and label shape. It's the perfect manly color to complement the Cherry Hill paper. (loooove it.) This card is for the boyfriend. :) My entry:

Close-up:

Thanks for visiting today! Let me know what you think. :) I love comments!

Love.

P.S.- Big blog entry coming tomorrow- a new layout, a new project, and some inspiration. See you then!

The best pages come out of thin air.

I was sitting waiting for the bus two weeks ago and started thinking about all the ways I've changed over the past year. I made a list on my iPod and didn't know what to do with it. Well, until last night when I saw my prints that Shutterfly just sent me. I saw one of my self-portraits and new it would be perfect for this:

It's clear- my first clear layout. :)

Close-up:

Supplies: Patterned Paper- Making Memories, Clear Background- KI Memories, Graph Paper- Art Supply Store (actually, this one- it's fabulous.), Number Stickers- Making memories, Flowers- Prima, Embroidery Thread- DMC, Ric Rac- Bazzill, Corner Rounder- The Paper Studio, Other- Buttons and pen.

This was loosely inspired by Wendy Rago's (the owner of Bad Girls Kits) "Best" layout that I found a while ago... it inspired me to buy the scalloped background, even though it took me 8 months to use it. :)

Thank you for looking! I'll be back tomorrow with more I think. I got quite a bit of scrapbooking done last night, but the other two pages are waiting for that "one more thing".

2. Hop on over here to 2S4Y to see about their big celebration event coming in two weeks. I'm excited, and you should be, too.

3.I leave you with my favorite thing about being home. I took this one this morning where my two cuddly kitties were sitting next to eachother looking at the absolutely gorgeous tree outside my window. (Oh yeah, and the birds in it...) Love it.

Love.

P.S.- Yesterday I applied for a position at Archiver's. I don't have high hopes (I'm a college student who won't be here four months from now), but I would LOVE to have this job, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed. :)

Saying goodbye for now...

is hard. I've said goodbye to too many of my very good friends in the past couple days; and that'll be even harder in 24 hours when I leave. I guess this is the life of the college student. Summer will bring good things, though. Creative, wonderful things. :)

Here are a couple cards I've made in the last couple days. I need to pack up my scraping stuff today, so I needed one last creative release. Here are the cards:

1. My favorite is for my roommate who is leaving in a couple hours. This was inspired by this sketch from 2 Sketches 4 You (#26)

My version:

Detail shot (love the flowers and the stamping on this!):

Supplies: Cardstock- The Paper Studio (Kraft and White), Archiver's (Blue), and Unknown (light green), Patterned Paper- Making Memories (Dot) and Basic Grey (Green), Stamps- Hero Arts, Ink- Tsukineko, Colored Pencils- Crayola, Brads- Making Memories, Flowers- Prima (paper) and Making Memories (Chipboard), White Paint Pen- ZIG.

2. Now here's an umbrella- inspired card for the current Moxie Fab World challenge. :)

Detail shot- love the dimension!

Supplies: Cardstock- American Crafts (Blue and Grey) and Bazzill (Dotted Swiss White), Patterned Paper- Making Memories, Letter Stickers- Making Memories, Pen- ZIG, Embroidery Floss- DMC, Ribbon- The Paper Studio, Ink- Tsukineko.

3. Here's a card to go with KJ's Stamp Pad Challenge #6. I think it might be missing something, but here it is anyways. :)

It says "I miss you (already)"- it's a little hard to read:

Supplies: Cardstock- Bazzill (Yellow and light Purple) and Unknown (Green and Dark Purple), Embroidery Floss- DMC, Stamp- Hero Arts, Embossing Ink and Powder- Ranger, Letter Stickers- American Crafts, Rub-ons- Doodlebug, Border Punch- Fiskars.

Well, it's time to stop procrastinating and start packing. Only one final left for me, and then I'm out of here and back to the land of cheese, relaxation, and my kitties. :)

Love.
