Miles long...

My project to-do list is escalating to monumental proportions, but everything is on hold while I wait for pictures and my computer to come in. Well, and I'm not really that motivated.

Today is a weird day. There's something weird in the air. Maybe I get this feeling from seeing an entire wedding party crashing Applebee's today to go to the bathroom for 10 minutes. Everyone was dressed up to the nines- the bride in her gorgeous gown and the bridesmaids in theirs... the men in stunning suits. I had this overwhelming feeling that I was watching life happen before my eyes: a day these people will remember for the rest of their lives, and I'm a spectator to its glamor. The bridesmaids' dresses were GORGEOUS- something like this only cream with an expresso brown bow around the waist (the picture is from http://www.edenbridals.com/7169-p-963.html):

That's absolutely inspiring to me. I want one.. lol.

I also did a random project after starting a fresh composition notebook for notes on organization I would like to use after reading Heidi Swapp's blog today (http://heidiswapp.typepad.com/my_weblog/2008/06/a-peek-inside.html). One look at the undecorated cover, and this blank canvas became one more place to express my feminity with bright pink and silver. Love it!

Simple and to the point using Anna Griffin pp, random letter stickers and rubons (American crafts, etc.) and silver embossing powder and ink. It took me all of 20 minutes... most of which was determining where to place the stickers. :-)

Now, for things that are on my list... I'm almost done with this layout, but here's a sneak peak. I'm just waiting for the pictures to appear in my mailbox:

I'm really digging the turquoise and red combo. Hopefully I'll have that done on Monday!

Next, I pulled out all the supplies I might use on my best friend's graduation present:Then, I started the title page. Here's a peak of a project I've worked for 10 minutes on. lol When pictures come, this baby will be done in no time:Sorry about all of the teases, but I can't wait to have these projects done and share them for real. It's going to be a very productive week next week!

Some old things, some new things, and some blue things

I have a few new loves in my life.

You see, when your camera takes this picture:

and then dies, you have two options- buy a new camera or don't. (A third option would be to get this camera fixed, but since I bought it for $150 and it would cost almost $200 to fix, that doesn't make sense.) Therefore, I have fallen in love with this:
It's the Panasonic DMC-TZ5. I tried it out at Best Buy and was in love instantly. Everything about it just makes me want to run everywhere with it and take pictures every second... 10x zoom, 10 megapixels, all of the wonderful best shot modes are wonderful. All the reviews I've read online either are 5-star or address problems I really have no concern about. So I decided that this camera nees to be mine, now I just have to wait for it to go on sale.
Now, for the reason I have to wait to buy this love of mine... another true sole mateMy Macbook Pro. I'm ordering it today after admiring it from affar for so long. It's perfect (even though, of course, my bf is a PC fanatic and wants nothing to do with it... he'll come around, though). This baby is going to get me through (hopefully) four years of school. My major? Graphic design. I'm excited.

Here's a page I did this week for another COCOA weekly challenge. That group is so helpful- it pushes me to get a least one LO done. It's really simple, but it gets the job done. Plus, I love that Scenic Route pp! The stickers and rubons are from American Crafts, the calendar stamp is from Autumn Leaves, the ink is black StazOn, the chipboard tag and brads are from The Paper Studio, the paint from Windsor and Newton, and the cs is unknown.

Also, I must share a picture I took today, because I think it's really cool-looking. I was doing a shoe photoshoot for an upcoming layout (stay tuned for that): The sad part is, that may not even be half of my shoes. I just grabbed whatever I could find.

Oh, one more thing. Mr. UPS Man brought me this t-shirt today from http://www.threadless.com/. Total inspiration for a layout, don't you think? Hmm... we'll see where that goes.
That's all for today. Thanks for looking!

What kept me from scrapping for 6 months...

Here are some of the things I did in art this last school year. I have to admit, they turned out a lot better than I thought they would.
1. Landscape painting... a picture of a lighthouse from my trip to the Carribbean last summer.
2. A pencil black and white drawing of a votive holder out on my porch.
3. An abstract painting with a blue-green color scheme.

4. A still life. (This painting is the devil... I could never get it quite right.) Each thing represents something inportant to me. The notebook=my love for writing, the necklace=my love for dressing up, the crayons=my love of color and being carefree enough to color with crayons, the Prima bottles=my love of scrapbooking, my passport=my love of travel, and the guitar pick=my love for music and remembering my cousin, who gave it to me.

5. My pencil self-portrait. This is my favorite.

That's all for today. Enjoy looking!

Back and in action...

It's summertime and the living here is easy...

I've gotten so much done lately, so I'll post a bit of it, including some art I did in recent months. I'll post my recent layouts today and some other stuff later.

1. This was a COCOA challenge for last week. I'm almost done with my 8 by 8 scrapboook for our Atlanta trip back in April, but I wanted a 12 by 12 page for my yearly album. I had some fun with some chipboard, Diamond Glaze, and Stickles. The shaped journaling was part of the challenge, but I really like how it turned out- much better than a rectange in my opinion. :-)

2.This picture isn't the best, but here's the first layout I completed after a few weeks, and before that, a few months. It's nice having time again. Anyways, I like the bling on the layout. It suits hockey very well... lol.

Here's a new technique I'm really fascinated with- painting and then covering with diamond glaze. This one almost looks like patent leather. The shiny-ness is perfect for pictures with ice in them.

3. Here's a layout I actually had a dream about making before I made it... I was scrapbooking in my dream! It's about the moment I knew that I wanted to go to Minnesota for school. I really like the pink, red, and white combination or colors.
I like hand stitching and hidden journaling.

4. Here's a layout I did talking about my trip to Minnesota back in October, featuring the ever-so-bright Maroon and Gold of my future home.

5. Here's the first layout I did this year... goodness. It's of prom and I like the pretty bright colors.

6. This is my latest layout. I love that pp by Deja Views, and I tried out my new white pen (a Souffle pen by Sakura). It works remarkably well, even though it's clear before it drys.

I'll be back later with some more for ya. I have paintings, drawings, and a few more layouts to share soon.

So Inspired at So the wrong time...

I've gotten so much done lately that I want to post and oogle at in my spare time, but the problem remains that I have none. With finals quickly approaching, the teachers are piling on all sorts of activities, readings, projects, and papers... and I only have three (really two) real classes! What is this nonsense? Oh well, graduation is only 7 days away, and boy, am I ready.

For now, I must sit here with a million ideas running through my head and trying to restrain myself from looking through all the billions of websites out there filled with pictures of wonderful scrapbook work that I haven't seen yet. Oh, how happy everything makes me.

Happy... wow. I really must be inspired. :-)

Ah! Forgot about this- I've been busy lately...

I think I'll have time to upload some latest projects in the next week, but I've been really busy with school, work, and applying for college and scholarships (If anyone knows of any ones for SBers, I'd love to hear about them :-).)

I didn't actually realize that people read this, but now that I see I have comments (thank you so much, by the way), I'll try to update more. I've been getting a a couple things done per week, so I have lots to share.

Here's some of the things I've been working on:
COCOA challenge layouts- most about the trip to Disney/ our cruise
SS albums- which I really need to get sent in now
random cards
compsition notebooks
my favorite and current project- a minibook using my bind-it-all

I hope to update with some photos soon, but life is nuts right now so we'll see. Have a great weekend, everyone! I'm out to enjoy the sunny 60 degree weather now before going to work...

After a long while, my scrapper's block has finally been defeated!

It's funny, because my acrylic blocks formed an army to attack and defend the rest of the camp from the evil, corrupted block. haha! That's the kind of funny you get when I'm sleep-deprived.

Vacation in Florida was ammmmazing and I want to go back again soon, but before I do that I need to get the pictures scrapped! In fact, I have all my unedited photos uploaded to http://www.scrapbookpictures.com/, which took forever, but I still want to edit some and it seems like such a daunting task. I've ben majorly procrastinating lately.

The last few days have been super productive for me. I think QVC craft fair all day on Tuesday really inspired me to get going. Here are the 4 layouts I've done and completed in the last 4 days:

[I'll put in images later... the picture uploader is being strange.]
1. Inspired from Happy Hour on the CKMB Monday night... a bunch of us decided to scraplift this Ali Edwards page here to show what was around our desks. I think it'll be really fun to look back on it and even make one every so often to see how my surrondings change.

2.This was an Challenge for the COCOA club on the message board. I really enjoy the club because it really compells me to get some layouts done... I love challenges! This layout is using something old (eyelets), something new (acrylic shapes and painting on acrylic shapes- love it btw), something borrowed (crayons to draw the stars- I'm in love with the twistable crayons because I've always loved office supplies, and something blue (lots of things). The picture isn't the greatest... but I give the guys a break since I'd already taken 15 pictures of them and my camera wouldn't cooperate. lol they had no idea what was going on!

3. This is just a layout I finally decided to get done. It's about my high school's (and boyfriend's) hockey season last winter... I just had to do the journaling, but it feels good to have it done! Oh yeah, and I heart hockey a ton! My favorite sport to watch...

4. This was another challenge layout. I don't really like the vellum on top, but oh well- it was something new to try. Also, the arrow flows the wrong way and I didn't want to angle it, so I'm just going to try to pretend that I meant for your eye to jump off the page. Oops. The challenge was to scraplift a layout from a magazine, so I also have the pic of he magazine up there.

And so ends my burst of scrapbooking layouts all in a row. Hopefully I'll get some more done soon... but I really need to get on getting some prints done. I'm pretty much fresh out! I have tons to print out still and a ton of photo ops coming up, too.

Oh, and here's an altered composition notebook that I did for my friend who just mored all the way across America from me. It's only been a week and a half and I miss him a ton. He's honestly the single most caring, big-hearted person I know. I hope he likes the journal when he sees it! He really likes art and writing...

This weekend, I'm working on sunshine albums (my goal is to get three done that I'm super proud of, and I may do more if I can find time). I'll definently post those here when I'm done! Oh, and I have to start thinking about what I want to do for an ATC swap that I'm in. My first ATCs! I'm excited.

I'll post pics in the morning. Goodnight and God Bless.
