Project #1: Travel Log for the Disney trip next week (ahh next week!)
The covers are chipboard taken from the back of a notebook (I really wanted these done tonight and sturdy so I used my resources!), and I just decorated the 5 1/4" by 7 1/4" pieces by rounding the "outward" corners, sticking down some flower patterned paper (MME), some green cardstock (Archiver's), striped patterned paper (MME), plastic flowers (American Crafts), silver brads (The Paper Studio), and some letter stickers for the title (American Crafts). The hardest part of the cover was actually punching the holes because I don't have a crop-a-dile [yet], but I did et my Basic Grey files set today from HSN, and I was able to use my paper piercer to make the holes and then the BG files to make the holes big enough and to smooth everything out. Add in the rings and viola! A travel log!
These pages are all 5 by 7 and are meant for keeping track of our daily adventures while on vacation. Chances that I'll actually fill it out every day? Slim. Cute? Yes! The background is from a free download from C.D. on the CK website and then I just added lines and a little text.
These are also 5 by 7 and I made boxes for character signatures and notes about them. I put down the background paper, and then I used digi buttons (both from the "Partypants" kit from PeppermintCreative.com), added a transparent rounded square and some lines, and we have an autograph page!
This is just the back and front... I really like the way it turned out!
I think I'll paint the edges black, just because I almost always ink them and this is definitely a piece for some more new techniques.
Project #2: My first digital layout
I only have Powerpoint right now to do this kind of stuff with, so that's what I did. It worked pretty well, but I can't wait to get PSE5! I had lots of fun... I predict that this is the beginning of something beautiful. : )

Project #3: Finally finishing that scraplift
This week-long process all started when I wanted a quick layout, so I opened up the gallery and decided to scraplift the first LO that jumped out at me. It was by kewl_jive, and it can be found here (http://www.creatingkeepsakes.com/gallery/details.ihtml?idx=61854). I didn't mean to scraplift the colors... in fact, I went off of a pen sketch for most of it, but I guess the colors stuck with me because I still used pink and orange as my accent colors. Oh well. I hope I did the original layout justice! Here's mine:
Project #4: A Patterned Paper Covered Chipboard flower with flock
I almost forgot- I played around with some chipboard, too! It's not finished by any stretch of imagination, but flocking (and my glue pad) is new to me, and I wanted to play with the BG chipboard and files that I got, so the result was this:
I think I'll paint the edges black, just because I almost always ink them and this is definitely a piece for some more new techniques.
Until next time...
